Interested in learning about betel nut chewing and how to quit?

This intervention is designed to explore the effectiveness of a betel nut cessation program for residents of Guam and Saipan who are betel nut chewers. 

Do you want to quit?  Or, do you know anyone who wants to quit?

Cancer Facts:

  1. Betel nut chewing, especially with tobacco, causes cancer.
  2. More than half of adult cancers in Micronesia, including Guam (57%) and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI, 65%), are tobacco-related.


  1. Individuals who chew betel nut with tobacco
  2. 18 years  or older
  3. Resident of Guam or Saipan
  4. Understand, speak, and read English
