Sullivan Conference Center

Philanthropist and major benefactor, Joanna Lau Sullivan, made a $3 million pledge to the University of Hawaiʻi Cancer Center on June 24, 2011 to help furnish and maintain the research building. In recognition of the major gift the conference center at the UH Cancer Center was named the Sullivan Conference Center (SCC). The SCC is equipped with some of the most advanced audio and visual equipment.

Since the opening of the new facility in 2011, the SCC has hosted a number of events, which include community and education outreach meetings, seminars and conferences. The SCC hosted more than 260 events from 2013 to 2015 alone with more than 16,000 people who have attended the wide variety of events. The SCC is frequently used by UH Cancer Center faculty and staff, the John A. Burns School of Medicine, the UH Foundation, various UH departments and outside entities.

The Sullivan family has been committed to improving cancer research and treatment in Hawaiʻi for decades. The gift supports the UH Cancer Center's mission to ultimately cure cancer.
